Feeding the Ducks

Today we went and fed the ducks at the park. Reuben managed to get over his fear and had a great time throwing bread (and rocks when he ran out) at the ducks and swans. Luke had fun just hanging around, watching what was going on.

Happy the Horse

Reuben has a new hobby horse which he has named "Happy". This name is due to his current obsession with determining whether people are friendly or scary. Happy means that everything is ok. Poor Reuben is a little delicate at the moment and quite clingy, but it means I get lots of hugs!

Mother's Day

We spent the day at a train park with Grandma Lorraine, Auntie Selina, Uncle Chris and Aiden. Reuben had a great time playing in the sand and then travelling on the train. What a great place for boys!

Ride the Bike?

Lately Mike has been taking Reuben for rides on the bike. Reuben loves it! He loves to yell out "Bike behind!" to unsuspecting pedestrians who don't get out of the way quickly enough.

Cairns

We had a great time over Christmas up in Cairns and Pt. Douglas. This was a very different trip to others as Reuben now insists on going to playgrounds and wanting to do his own thing. Camping trips are the order of the day for a while now.

Another hot summer

It's shaping up to be another hot summer and Reuben's favourite saying is "Oh, it's hot" (However, when he's very cold, he also says this). Reuben has also decided to be scared of fans this summer, especially ceiling fans. This has caused him to hide behind doors until they are turned off. These pictures were taken last night- his bedroom was approaching 30C, so he spread out to get the best advantage of the air from the fan. It's such a male look with his hands down his pants, however the mouth wide open is more like me.

Going to the Zoo

Off to the zoo again on a nice sunny day. Reuben is loving it more and more. He was transfixed by the giraffes ("so high!") and loves the cow (AKA Miss Moo). I included the picture Mike took of the dead Tapirs suffering from swine flu.
